The Altima LED foot well kit is a great way to add a touch of luxury to your car. This ‘modular’ lighting kit can be used to provide either ambient lighting or help search for items that may have fallen on to the floor at night. The kits are made up of 3 separate pieces which can be customized to each individuals personal tastes or requirements;
Basic Kit-$34.99 = Complete wiring harness and (2), 6inch flexible LED strips for under the dash. Included instructions will allow the strips to operate with the door open or when the keyless entry is used. The Unique feature of this kit is that it mirrors the brightening and dimming effect of the oem dome light for clean oem like operation. The flexible LED strips are available in your choice of color (white/blue/red/amber), and utilize 3M adhesive for simple Peel & Stick application.
Rear Kit+$25.99 = Connects to the Basic kit and offers 2 additional 6” LED strips for the rear foot well areas. The included brackets simply slide under the rear seat cushion for clean unintrusive operation that will not be in the way of rear passengers.
Switch Kit+$15.99 = Connects to the Basic kit and allows more control of the lighting system. In addition to the Basic Kits operation, a ‘Manual On’ and ‘Off’ mode are made available so that the kit can operate independently (while the vehicle is in motion for example). The kit includes all the needed connectors and switch to mount in the oem location to the left of the steering wheel for a clean oem look. No cutting or splicing required!!
Note: It has been observed on many 4th Gen (07+) cars that LED replacement bulbs in the map lights may stay very dimly lit when they should be off. This can also hold true for the foot well kit since it is tied into that same circuit. The operation of this circuit is controlled by a timer on the vehicle that is completely shut off 30min after the car is parked. This is the same circuit that shuts off the lights if the doors are left open for 30min. The minimal draw of the LED strips poses no threat in staying dimly illuminated, and will not cause the battery to become discharged in that 30min time period.
